The Potenza RF microneedling system adds radiofrequency energy to the mechanical microneedling procedure, delivered via small needles. In addition to the micro-injury benefits, RF microneedling delivers RF energy deep into the dermis for enhanced skin tightening. The RF energy heats underlying layers, causing constriction/tightening and stimulating collagen and elastin production. Results vary from person to person.
Typically around 30 minutes. A topical anaesthetic is applied and can take up to 45 minutes to become fully effective.
How it feels
A topical numbing cream is applied to help reduce discomfort. Most patients describe feeling the needles working but say it is not painful. A member of the clinical team stays with you throughout, and treatment can be stopped at any point.
After treatment
A smoother, more radiant complexion within a few days, with gradual improvement over several weeks/treatments. Redness, minor swelling and pinpoint bleeding are normal and typically resolve within 3 days. Minor bumps or, rarely, micro-crusting can occur and are readily managed at the clinic.
Aftercare
Avoid strenuous exercise and sun exposure for 48 hours after treatment. Follow your clinician's instructions about sunscreen and other skin care products before resuming your usual routine.
Suggested course
